Volubilis is an ancient Roman city in Morocco near Meknes, and considered as the ancient capital of the Roman-Berber kingdom of Mauretania. UNESCO has listed Volubilis as World Heritage Site. Although only half of Volubilis has been excavated, a large number of buildings are still visible and some, a basilica and a triumphal arch, have been reconstructed. You should enjoy the fine mosaics that have been discovered in a number of buildings and which are still in situ in the houses where they were laid.
